Brief Description
Voestalpine Stahl GmbH is the steel competence centre within the voestalpine Group. As lead company of the Steel Division, VAS operates a fully integrated steel mill in Linz. The metallurgical plant includes all necessary equipment to meet the high requirements of the material “steel”.
The core business of VAS comprises the flat products division. Steel strip, both hot-rolled and highly refined cold-rolled strip, and heavy plates are prepared in the subsidiaries by slitting and cross-cutting in such a way that the customer can process them directly.
In addition, VAS offers a range of additional subsidiary foundry products as well as various technical and logistic services. By implementing efficient solutions from a single source, the needs of the individual customer can be met. In the business year 2017/18 VAS generated sales of € 3.96 billion; the company employs around 6800 people
Main tasks and responsibilities within the project
Contribute to study all the managerial, business, and legal issues of a use case on the symbiotic valorisation of renewable hydrogen at the industrial park in Linz with the predominating players BOREALIS and VOESTALPINE.
