We are happy to announce CORALIS has initiated a set of synergy activities with Horizon 2020 project SisAl Pilot to foster mutual knowledge exchange on common project challenges.

SisAl Pilot is a 4 year project funded by Horizon 2020 and it aims to demonstrate a patented novel industrial process to produce silicon (Si, a critical raw material), enabling a shift from today’s carbothermic Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) process to a far more environmentally and economically sustainable alternative: an aluminothermic reduction of quartz in slag that utilizes secondary raw materials such as aluminium (Al) EoL scrap and dross, as replacements for carbon reductants used today.

The exploitation of synergies with H2020 projects will mostly involve exchange of learning material and planning and organising conferences and thematic workshops along with a set of other activities.

Stay tuned to find out more about the upcoming synergies between SisAl pilot and CORALIS.
