Join us on Tuesday 8th October at 13:30-14:30 CEST for a highly anticipated presentation and panel discussion on “Synergizing Industry: Mobilizing Stakeholders for Effective Industrial Symbiosis Implementation”, organized by the CORALIS project. This event is a must-attend for industry professionals, IS facilitators, and policymakers who are keen on driving forward the circular economy through collaborative efforts in industrial symbiosis (IS).
This 1st webinar will explore effective strategies for engaging stakeholders throughout the different stages of IS implementation. Drawing on the experiences and research from the CORALIS project, panelists will explore real-world case studies and provide a roadmap for overcoming common challenges in stakeholder mobilization.
The event will explore several key topics essential for successful Industrial Symbiosis (IS) implementation. First, the discussion will focus on strategies for stakeholder engagement, offering insights into how different groups can be effectively involved during the planning, execution, and optimization phases of IS projects. Next, the session will explore the challenges commonly encountered during stakeholder mobilization, providing practical solutions to overcome these barriers. Additionally, participants will be guided through a comprehensive roadmap for stakeholder mobilization, detailing how to navigate the complexities of engaging stakeholders to ensure successful IS implementation.
The discussion will feature three significant case studies related to the CORALIS project, each highlighting different aspects of stakeholder mobilization. The first case study will examine the utilization of renewable hydrogen through collaboration between an integrated steel mill and an ammonia fertilizer production site. The second case study will explore the reuse of byproducts and waste streams from an oil refinery. These case studies will provide concrete examples of how industrial symbiosis can be achieved through effective stakeholder collaboration.
Panelists:
- Johannes Lindorfer (EI-JKU): An expert in environmental and resource management, Johannes brings extensive experience in industrial symbiosis and sustainable industrial practices.
- Melanie Knöbl (EI-JKU): With a strong background in environmental engineering, Melanie will share insights from her research on optimizing industrial processes through symbiosis.
Host:
- Marianna Kambanou (LiU): A researcher in industrial ecology, Marianna will guide the discussion, ensuring that key insights and actionable strategies are shared with participants.
Interactive Q&A Session: Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during the session, with selected queries addressed in a dedicated Q&A segment.
